Open Standards for 2-Dimensional Codes

Problem

Right now every app that uses 2-dimensional codes for payments creates their own format for encoding data and there are no provisions provided for interoperability. This leads to the following problems:
1) it is difficult to potentially unify disparate payment methods and currencies/asset types
2) apps that read 2-dimensional codes cannot automatically determine the method of payment

Solution

Kawashi: an open standard for encoding 2-dimensional codes for payments, licensed under the Creative Commons CC-0 License. Information about the type of asset to be transferred, payment method, and destination are all standardized.

The format for the structure of 2-dimensional codes is as follows: Once a standardized 2-dimensional code is employed, it can help facilitate a unified infrastructure for digital payments. Many different assets can be seemlessly transferred and transparently exchanged for each other when needed.
